I got out of Berlin for a holiday. It was a lucky decision to go into the Swiss mountains and run away from the Berlin summer heat. After that, I went to see my family in Prag. Once I was back in Berlin, I went for a drink with one of my very good friends. I didn’t plan on taking photos this day. I had a lot of things to do. But when I saw Bara in that flower dress, I was amazed. It was a very untypical outfit for her. Usually, she is wearing dresses in a single colour and without print. I can’t remember to see her in such a romantic style. She looked so amazing in that dress. Her beautiful shiny red hair looked marvellous in the sunset, and I had no other choice but to ask her for a snap 🙂

My phone started to ring, and I was trying to get it from my bag when I got distracted by these two great women. Colourful hair, dinosaurs as earrings, vibrant spirit. I was happy when I woke up and saw a cloudy sky. I knew that this is my perfect day for taking pictures. This is my little schizophrenia because usually, a bright blue sky is one of these things that make me happy. But for taking pictures, a cloudy sky makes for better light. I was hoping to run in some interesting people whom I can ask for a photo and when I saw this tremendous bright orange cap I knew this is it. The woman who was wearing it was beautiful and, and I was enjoying the shoot.

On that day I had an appointment with a friend of a friend of mine. Hang is a designer living in Shanghai, and when I heard that she was passing through Berlin, I thought this would be an excellent opportunity to get to know her. I was thinking for a while now to have a small logo for my photography, and I was wondering if she could design one for me. We meet for a coffee, and we spent a great time chatting about travelling, photography, ice cream. I was delighted that I had my camera with me ( just in case 🙂 ) so I could make a picture of her. And now I’m curious and looking forward to seeing my logo for the first time.

Finally the day I was looking forward to for such a long time. My best friend Veronika who lives in Czech was going to visit me once again. It’s always a high occasion when she visits. She has two children and is busy with work so she can only visit me two times per year. When she comes to Berlin, we already have our habits like having Turkish breakfast by Simitdchi or a going on a bus trip on the M29 while chatting about life and eating frozen yoghurt even when is very cold outside. We also love drinking beer in Prinzengarten, and the very first thing she does when she comes to visit is to go to her favourite shop the COS store. And because Veronika is a beautiful woman who bought gorgeous COS dress and I happen to love taking pictures of beautiful women in beautiful dresses. I had to ask her for a photo:-)

It was the last pictures left on my film in my camera. Suddenly I saw this amazing colour. Shiny bright yellow. I loved the dress, and I was mesmerised when I saw this beautiful woman who was wearing it. She was like from a fashion magazine. I rushed over to her to ask her for a photo. She was so lovely and so natural. I looked at her through a viewfinder, and I got excited about it. I pushed the button and…nothing happened. The camera stayed quiet. I checked everything and tried once more, and once again, still without any response from my camera. At that moment I didn’t know what worse, not getting the picture of this beautiful woman or to realise that my camera is broken. I apologised to the woman. She walked away, and I was left with my camera confused and sad. Then I got angry with myself, and I checked once again everything on the camera until I checked the last thing left – the simplest and one of the most common mistakes – the battery was empty! I put a new one in, and the camera made that noise I love so much. I looked around searching for the woman in yellow. I didn’t see her, but I didn’t want to give up, so I went to the nearest shop in the hope to find her. And I did!

I took my last film and put it in my camera. Then I wrote my friend that I´m very sorry because I will be late for the dinner. I realised that as long as I had film left to shoot there would be no way I would get on the tram. At this moment I turned around, and I saw this beautiful woman wearing this fantastic skirt. She attracted my attention with her fairy pale skin and her shiny blond hair. It was in such contrast with her nice tattoos and her rock style. When I asked her if I could take a picture of her, She was startled, and I had to promise that it would only take a few minutes. I had the feeling that she was uncomfortable having her picture taken in front of all the people passing by but she was doing it so well.

I was already late. While I was taking pictures I missed another tram but the light was so nice I just couldn’t stop searching for the next person to take a picture off. Suddenly I saw this man looking so beautiful! He was so nice and so vibrant. It was his face that attracted my attention. On second glance, I saw that he was wearing very nice clothes. I enjoyed taking his picture a lot and I love his smile.

I was waiting for a tram when I saw this girl. I liked very much how she looked. The beautiful Adidas dress and her bag that had the same colour as her shoes were just great. I was hanging out at Tempelhofer Feld with friends watching the world cup on the big screen. One of the best places in Berlin to chill out and do whatever you like. Because of this well-known fact, it wasn’t a surprise that it was too packed to see the screen. So we couldn’t see the game at all. It didn’t bother us though. We had fun chatting and from time to time we were trying to catch a glimpse of the screen over the heads of all the people. I only brought my small camera with me, and when this woman who was a friend of a friend, whom I didn’t know before, sat with us, I instantly regretted not bringing my “professional” camera with me. She was amazing. A stylish hat and fabulous sunglasses. But when she turned, and I saw this tattoo I had to take a picture for my blog even with my small camera.

It was just a short moment this guy had to stop at the traffic lights, and this was my moment. I jumped at him and asked him if I could take a snap of him. He stayed so calm and so relaxed as he had been doing it all his life. I had few seconds to get this picture. And I’m glad I did! He was just so confident and completely cool on his bike with his Lennon sunglasses.

I put my camera in the bag. It had teen minutes left bevor the supermarket close and I had to buy something for my breakfast. I was in hurry. Suddenly I saw this woman. My stomach was telling me not to stop and tried to distract me with the thoughts about blueberries, dark chocolate and greek yoghurt. It works for a few steps, but then I have to turn back. Even the image of dark chocolate could not help. I run back while unpacking my camera ones again. I ask the woman for a photo and she was very nice to me. She was worried to look too tired for a picture but she absolutely doesn’t. I like this photo of her very much. PS: The great hat and the vest are made Oliver Sinz, a good friend of her. I was hungry so when I saw the Turkish fruit stand I went straight in that direction. But then I got distracted away from the nice fresh cherries to the beautiful combination of colours of the clothes that this girl was wearing. And then away from those vibrant red and yellow colours to her beautiful face. She spoke to someone on the phone and I didn’t want to disturb her. I loved this particular photo of her. Especially her looking into the camera. She remained so natural and she was just so lovely.

The Street was crowded like it always that time of day. Many people walking up and down and from time to time a bicycle in between. Suddenly I saw this guy. Actually, I saw his striped t-shirt at glance. I like these t-shirts so much. I had a period when I was wearing them all time. I bought them in several variants, Some of them with just very small differences between them. I walked towards this guy and I thought: This is just perfect. He had such a nice face and the t-shirt in the combination with his classic cut trousers was so great. For a brief moment I was thinking of this cliché: The French have to be wearing striped t-shirt in this exact way. I was smiling in my mind when I asked Loic after taking pictures of him where is he from.

This was the first time somebody that I wanted to ask for a picture actually started talking to me first. Apparently, my camera caught his interest. He turned out to be a really nice guy and we had a little chat about photography before I asked him for a picture. It was much easier for me to ask him for a shot that way. I’m really happy he agreed as I thought he was really charismatic.

I just changed a film in my camera when I saw this great woman on the bike. I wished so hard that the traffic light turned red and I got the chance to ask her for a photo. I fell in love with her turquoise skirt, not only because it is my favorite color. The skirt was so colorful, cheerful and vibrant – just like the woman was. The lights turned green and I was very happy to get this picture without being run over by the passing cars.

I couldn’t stop looking at her. I thought the reason I noticed her was her nice turban and clothes. But actually, it wasn’t. It was rather the way she was. The quietness and balance she emitted. I was sitting on the bridge, looking around, observing people who passed and then suddenly, I looked up and saw this guy sitting on the wall. It was not only how he looked like but also the way he was sitting there. So relaxed but in a way focused as well. The background, the bike under his feet used as a stool. To me, it seemed like it was just made for a photo. I didn’t want to disturb him but I wanted to take the picture so much. After I had asked him, we talked a little. I was done with making photos for the day and I wanted to finish it with nice lemon ice-cream. I was standing in a queue when I noticed this guy. Perhaps it was the glasses once again. (By now I got already my own first glasses, so I assume that my obsession with the glasses will go away.) I just found this guy so nice and interesting that I left the queue to ask him for a photo. I was so focused on taking pictures of him, that I didn’t hear a bicycle running into me. But obviously, he did see it:-)

I was walking on the Kottbusser Damm not really observing people yet. I was lost in my thoughts and suddenly I see this sunglasses, the haircut, leather jacket. Three guys. Each of them an interesting character. I turned after them once again. And then ran. Before I realised I had to ask them for a photo, they already crossed the street. While taking the pictures I noticed what was the specific thing that I found interesting in each of them. By this man, I liked so much the combination of the old school glasses with free open long hair. I realised that in the last days I’m unconsciously strongly focused on glasses. Holy jeans, that was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw this great painted jeans jacket. It reminded me of the icon painting if the saints. And trough the viewfinder I saw how many details had to be done to create it. I was wondering which brand could it be. I have finished my last film. I put the camera in my backpack and went to have it developed. For a moment, I heard the voice in my head telling me to put new film in the camera, just for the case. I was lazy, the streets were empty, so I chased it away. After five minutes, I see this woman crossing the street. I was staring at her. I found her so beautiful and charismatic. And I was desperate and angry with me because I had no chance to manage to get the film in the camera in time to catch her. I lost sight of her and took my bus home. When I turned around, still so angry with me, I saw the lady sitting just behind me. I broke my time record in putting the film in the camera and was so lucky when she agreed to let me make a picture of her.
